How can the running kind of bamboo be killed ?
Question:i have dug it up, used round up, brush killer,etc.
Answers:
Running bamboo is the worse infiltrator. The only way to stop it is to provide a mechanical barrier beyond the point of its expansion going from above ground height to 2-3 feet below ground level. Heavy Plastic sheeting does this easily.

keep digging ... persistance is the key here... offer it to any one in your area that might want some... or sell the small babies that come up as plant stakes in a farmers market magazine... or harvest the big canes to make cups out of... too many uses for bamboo to be told...
if you can't beat it... make it make you money... thats what i always say...
I am sympathetic.Once you got Bamboo it's a curse. Advice-
Amitrole or Roundup-spray on vigourously growing young foliage, or apply to new spears after cutting off tips. Good Luck!
