Watch Caddie Shack, Bill Murry will give you some pointers.
tried every method, including ammonia, water, gas bombs, traps, mothballs, juicy fruit gum, cats, Critter Ridder (pepper stuff) and poison granules. The poison was the last thing I put in the ground as a last resort. It seems that is what finally worked. It's been 5 weeks since we have seen a gopher in our yard, and the neighbors are complaining they have some, so I guess it worked! I found the main tunnel, and opened it up wide. Then I liberally sprinkled the poison in the hole, and left the hole open. When I came back the hole was filled in and I never saw another critter. So whether that worked or something else I stuck in the ground finally got them, I'm not sure. I do know that the hibiscus they were devouring has come back lovely green and is blooming, and nothing else has died or disappeared suddenly underground. Also visit the Garden Clinic forum. There is a very extensive thread devoted to gophers, with something like 90 or so follow ups with every kind of method of getting the little pests out of your yard.
Go fer your gun.
if you mean Gofers,shoot them.

if you mean Golfers then rob their balls
Catch a garden snake for every goffer hole you find, and release them in the goffer hole. That should do the trick.

i know a lot of people don't like doing this, but lowe's makes something to get rid of gofers... permanently. other than that, i don't have any suggestions.
only thing that has worked for me is M-80's, however, it's not pc to say so.
Weapons of mass destruction gopher gas etc.
Pellet gun it the fun way, poison is the fast way.
Call Bill Murray.
If you own a cat, then use the dirty litter box and pour it into the gopher holes.

It sounds nasty but the gophers hate it. Also it will get rid of them from the yard.
OK, this is a little unconventional, but it works. It will take only two weeks.

First go to Costco and buy a 2 gallon tub of peanut butter.

Use two wooden spoons, one to scoop a spoon of peanut butter, the other to help push it off.

The first thing you do is scoop a spoonful and lop it onto the middle of the yard area with the gophers. Next count about 2 yards towards your closest neighbor and drop two spoonfuls, 2 yards again and drop 4 spoonfuls, keep going until you are near the far end of your neighbors yard. There you need to work quickly and dig a hole about 8 inches in diameter and about 6 inches deep. Drop the rest of the peanut butter in that hole and cover with dirt removed from the whole. Within two weeks, they will have established a tunnel system under your neighbor's yard and you can now reclaim your yard to yourself.
Sounds crazy, but an old dude told me to use castor oil seed. Don't know if it is still available. Extremely toxic to gophers, and they eat the seed. Worked for me. Was a better option than poisoning the soil with a a general poison. Worth a try.
Get a cat or two. Ours have cleared out the ones in our yard and is having a ball in the field behind our house now.

Bonus, she doesn't eat much cat food! :)
