I want to make a fire pit/bowl in my backyard.?
Question:If I use a metal bowl,fill it with small rocks and alcohol,will it burn or blow up?

BURN! Unless the alcohol is under pressure it will just burn... but stand back as it might flare up at first.
dig a hole and put a tire rim in it. Without the tire. then put rocks or bricks around it.

I doubt that it would blow up unless you had some kind of fuel in with the metal. I have helped to build a fire pit while living in the city. Yes it is allowed. As long as it is contained you can have a pit. We had an old Webster Grill. I dug out a whole about three or four feet deep and placed the grill in it. Then filled in dirt around the out side so that it was flush. That is one way. Now I live somewhere else and we aren't using metal. We have a rectangular shaped pit with rocks forming the outs side. I think it is about two to three inches deep. Maybe a little more. I think there might be a thin layer of rock or cement forming the inside outside of the pit. Either way seemed to work.
if your going to use a metal bowl , use smaller stones and use some lamp oil. it burns good and when gone it burns out.
