How do you determine if your soil contains lime?

Question:If it does, how can I get rid of it? I want to plant a perennial Lupinus Polyphylius (common name Lupine) and I am told it requires a lime-free soil.

Answers:
if you are in the U.S., most counties have a Cooperative Extension Service that will do this for a small price.

James is right. You might be able to add enough garden sulfur to lower the ph of the soil. This will work for a short time but you will have to keep reapplying sulfur.
