My lucky bean plant's leaves are turning yellow...HELP!?
Question:Is this a result of over watering? The new sprouts are green, but some of the old leaves have yellow around the edges. Any ideas?
Answers:
There are many reasons for leaves turning yellow, the most common being overwatering, not underfertilizing. Some of the yellowing is just natural aging.
There are also a variety of diseases which can cause the yellowing although yours seems to be mostly from overwatering, the diseases usually have patterns and are more readily distinguishable because they'll spot, like rust.

you need to add a fertilizer that has nitrogen in it. A lack of nitrogen is usually the cause of yellowing leaves.
Your beans may also have an iron deficiency. Take a tin can and soak it in a bucket of water until the water turns brown with rust. Take one cup of this water and mix it with 9 parts clean water and water your beans with it. Also plants can sometimes turn yellow because of a sulfur deficiency. You can correct this by shoving a few match heads into the dirt around the plant and leave them there for a week.
