How do I know when the limes on my lime tree are ready to pick?

It may take some trial and error but according to this web site and I quote: " Some citrus, like limes, are harvested prior to ripening. A lime is actually yellow when it is fully ripe."


As I recall they change from a dark green to a sleightly lighter color green.
when they pull away easily without a hard tug. oh and they are a lighter green
when they are as large as the ones you get in the grocery store.
