How can you make indoor daffodill bulbs grow at any time of year?

Question:I have daffodill bulbs in an indoor plant pot. They just died after looking beautiful in my kitchen window. Do I have to wait a year for them to flower again or is there a way of tricking them into believing it is summer again?

Answers:
In order to 'force' a daffodil bulb to flower indoors you have to first pot them up in a bulb pan. It could be 8" across & you can put as many bulbs in it that you can fit. Use good potting mix & water after planting. The bulbs then need to be placed in a cool area for 8-12 weeks. An old fridge would be good. Keep it above freezing, around 38 degrees. You may see some growth, but you don't need to do anything to them. After 12 weeks, remove it to a sunny location & water it well. The yellow growth will turn green & buds should start coming up.
