Why is yard clover lasting so long this year? Does the lack of bees have anything to do with it?

Question:

Answers:
Clover is a sign that your soil is low in Nitrogen.

You can leave it and learn to love it or Fertilize more.

Clover is many times used as a winter cover crop as the plant grabs onto and holds Nitrogen in its root system..go pull some up, you will see small white balls on the roots.

nope. when the bees are l gone, you will not have much clover as they pollinate it...which in turn keeps it multiplying.
clover will grow almost year round...depending on were you live.
you don't notice it due to mowing the lawn most likely.
hope this answers your question.
Clover has lots of benefits - as well as that bacteria on it's roots fixing nitrogen in the ground, it needs less water, no fertilizer, less mowing... and it chokes out other weeds and doesn't go brown when your dog pees on it. We love it for all those reasons and are planning to overseed with more dutch white clover to encourage it's growth. The bees don't seem to be a problem at all unless you step on them directly barefoot. Goodluck!
