Need tips on staining exterior cement around pool...?
Question:There is one 1/2 inch crack that runs about 2-3 feet in length and some gaps around the ledge of the pool. I would like to stain the cement but need to know how to prep it for the project. I plan to pressure wash it first then I was thinking I need to fill in the cracks...but what problems do I need to look out for? I am not expecting perfection. I just want the cement to look fresh, clean, new and I need to save money. Thanks.

Talk to a pool expert about repairing the cracks, a pool store might sell a caulk or filler.
If the concrete is smooth or never been painted you should etch it first using muradic acid. If it is painted, you will need to remove that coating.

I'm not too sure what you meant by "staining". If you're looking to save money then you should caulk you gaps ..and I'd recommend oil-based outdoor paint ... they do come in different finishes and colors. Ask about the required prep at your hardware store 'cause different brands require different things.
