Home made bug Killers, need a good one.?

Question:It seems like this spring I've had an over abundance of bugs in my outdoor potted plants, maybe it's caused by the lack of rain in Calif. this year. Anyways the commercial bug killers are not doing much of anything anymore, the bugs are still here eating away.Anyone have some good homemade bug killers that have worked for them. Hope you can help before my beautiful plants are wiped out!! Thanks

Answers:
Put 1 cup of hot peppers in a blender to liquify. use this solution in a gallon of water and add a couple drops of dish soap. Then spray on to leaves. This will stop the bugs from eating the leaves. Repeat weekly and after rain.

ants don't like cinnamon
In your potted plants, place a small container that can hold liquid (the cap off of a gatorade bottle, or snapple) Pour Coke or Pepsi into the lid. The insects love this syrupy treat, only one problem.they can not pass the carbonation.this works like a dream and is much cheaper than a $9 can of RAID that is NOT ECO friendly..technically neither is the pop but you don't have to worry about your children or your pets.
There is a recipe I was given for bug killer. It's a few drops of dish-washing liquid, a cup of vegetable oil, and lots of water. You'll want to shake it well before you spray it on your plants.

I can't speak for how well it actually works: I did a lot of companion-plant gardening this year, and while my plants do get nibbled the bug problem isn't bad. But I think it might: I use diluted Lysol to kill ants inside, and it works well there.

Good luck!
okay here goes mix equal parts of dish soap and listerine . it smells funky and works like a charm .
