Are flying insects bad.?
Question:I live in colorado. Every evening there are hundreds of flying insects around my lights. Are these harmful in anyway. They are a big nuisance but I dont want to kill them, but maybe I need to.
Answers:
You should use those lights that don't attract the bugs. And if you can't find them turn off your lights until you use them never leave your lights on. I don't know why it would be harmful.
KILL EM.KILL EM ALL
depends what kind of insects. they may not all be harmful although most are very annoying.
Some of those insects are bad. Some are not. If you want to control them; try attracting birds to your house. Birds, bats, praying mantis, lady bugs, spiders and many other species of insects are helpful in keeping the plant eaters, mosquito, and so on, at bay.
Edited: Those bug lights are not resourceful. They only cover a certain amount of area.
Most of the insects are harmful. Try to switch off your main light, instead use dim light.
You can buy some stuff ( paper insect killer -i dont know exactly how to call it ) too to get rid of them.
No insects are bad, they have all their uses.
If they become a problem you can put a more powerful light away from were you stay, dim the ones near your place, most of them will drawn to the more powerful and you'll be able to enjoy the evening.
