Whats the best type of shovel for digging a deep hole? Girlfriend was getting on my nerves..so i want to hide?

Question:

None of the other answers you've been getting are serious. I dig holes for a living. It actually makes a difference what type of shovel you use to dig with. There are two main types of shovel used for digging large holes (by hand). The round-point shovel is used to excavate and dig the hole. The square-point shovel is used to fill the hole back in, (once you're finished with your job).

The reason this matters is that a square pointed shovel will not penetrate the soil, but the round pointed shovel has an edge that can be used to break into the soil's surface.

When back-filling, the round point isn't as useful because its rounded point won't allow as large a scoop of dirt. Also, the squared edge of the square point allows the digger to move dirt along a flat surface with a gliding motion that would be impossible with the pointed tip of the round point.

So, you need both. The round pointed shovel to excavate your hole, and the square pointed shovel to fill it back in.

Use caution, don't dig deeper than five feet. The hole could cave in and trap you (unless you shore up the sides).

LOL
are you sure that you are not digging a hole to put her in?
I would not know the answer to this Q but what I do know is nerves a there for a reason my she help u??
The best shovel for that experience is a snow scoop, with your girlfriend in it. Just push slowly about a quarter of a mile in a direction you will not be for about half a day.
back ho
I think I would opt in for the backhoe from a local rental store. Just kiddin'. They do tend to get annoying though.
mabie you should go in the hole!!lol
One with a handle on it
My best friend is a grave digger in the local cemetery shall I ask him to pop over and dig it for you, his rates are very reasonable, he'll probably do it for a couple of Newcastle Browns! (He's very discreet too!)
LOL!
Sounds as though you want a quick job deep, I suggest a JGB
Sounds as tho' you need a ruddy great big one.
save yourself some work and find one already dug and jump in
metal one
I would recommend an 18 tonne tracked hi-ab with a 6 foot bucket.

You'll have the job done in half a day with the "package" at least 10 feet down so clear of any sniffer dogs.

Choose a stubble field because they will be ploughed soon so no-one will notice.

Allow about £200 for a days hire. I'd go out for the day if i were you, the crunching sound can be a tad upsetting.
