Should fescue and other lawns (besides zoysia) be aerated? Annually? More frequently?

Question:Just had my yard aerated and they totally missed the fescue portion . . .

Answers:
If your soil is heavy clay, definitely aerate once a year. We have our fescue lawn aerated and overseeded every September, right before the growing season starts (fescue is a cool-season grass and goes semi-dormant in the summer).
