What variety of banana is banana ketchup made of?

Question:I am into banana farming, I did plant the lakatan variety. I wanted to know which banana variety the banana ketchup are made of--Thanks!

Answers:
All the banana ketchup recipes I found simply say "ripe bananas". Here in America, we usually have ripe yellow Cavendish bananas and, as a "specialty banana", a few plantains that nobody buys.
The following postings list Cavendish bananas as a source for banana ketchup:

Most of the postings find it funny that the Cavendish banana is either fed to pigs, shipped to America, or made into ketchup as it is considered tasteless and dry!

ahm. actualy i dont if that's real or phony. i think its just for commercial use.
