How can i get my purple plum tree to bear fruit again?
Question:I have a purple plum tree in my yard that bore fruit 2 summers ago, but didn't last year. We are not sure why it didn't bear fruit, but want to know what if anything we can do to produce fruit this summer. The plums are sweet and tasty approx. 2" in diameter. The tree is healthy with deep purple leaves, no drooping. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If you had a late freeze when it was in bloom it killed the fruit. you can't get it to bloom again.
Plum trees are sensitive. In Colorado, most plum trees only bear every other year. Depending on moisture and heat. You can try deep root feeding with fruit tree food in April to give it a head start. But if it's too hot and dry in June, it probably won't bear.
Look into how you are pruning (ha! A plum pun!) the tree. Different plums like to be trimmed in different ways. Ask a nursery what works best for the type you have, or search on the internet.
