Can you put a Straight 8 Cucumber plant in a container and have a good crop of cucumbers?
Question:I don't have a lot of room to grow cucumbers, but want to put a plant in a container. I purchased a Straight 8 Cucumber plant at Home Depot, planted it in a container, and caged it. I am curious to know if I will get a good amount of cucumbers this way or if I am just wasting my time! Thank you!

Sure. I would plant it in a 12 inch by 12 to 16 inch deep pot. I would also give it 3 to six feet of verticle support. A good amount of cucumbers is a relative term, we don't know what you can expect fro a single plant, but we don't think you'll be disapointed.
Keep the soil moist, but not wet and give it a drink of compost tea every couple of weeks.

You should have cucumbers. Make sure if you get quite a few of them that you trans plant into a larger container. Oh, See that the get some sun. and keep the soil damp.

Many greenhouse cucumbers are grown in 5 gallon plastic bags or pots. The yields are excellent, provided you water regularily. With the relatively small rooting area, a full grown plant will use up to one gallon of water per day. Add some slow release fertilizer or use a soluble product.
Yes, if the pot is big enough. I put five seeds in a 5 gallon plastic bucket with holes in the bottom. I made a trellis from some wire fencing the same diameter as the bucket. They did well.
If the pot is big enough so roots can spread out and gets good sun. Put some coffee grounds in with them they like acidic soil
