Do Defenbachia Plants not like direct sunlight? Also known as Dumb Cain.?
Question:I set one outside and it appears to be burning.
Answers:
Dumb canes do well with bright filtered light. The direct sunlight can burn the leaves and while they will survive in low light, growth is slowed.
You are correct on both counts--they do not like direct sunlight, bright light but not direct, and they are also known as dumb cane.
Happy Growing!
I would not put that outside, but in a window where it gets indirect sunlight. Also water it only when the first 2" of soil are dry.
Mine do that when I first put them out in the spring but they revive quickly...mine are in partial sun, under tall trees, they love a good drowning ...cut off the burned leaves and see what happens
