It sounds to me like it is 5 acre.
One acre is 43,560 square feet, so a five acre ponds is five times that... 217,800 square feet. So if the pond were a square it would be about 465 feet on each side. My aunt has a 5 acre lake, it's not square, but it's a good size little lake for bass and bluegill fishing. But its to small for a power boat, maybe jet skis, but you'd be turning all the time.
5 acre pond may not mean 5 acres in surface area but may mean 5 acre feet of water. Bodies of water and ponds are very often measured in acre feet. An acre foot of water is 1 acre 1 foot deep. Following this then a 1 acre surface area pond averaging 5 foot deep is 5 acre feet. If you mean 5 surface acres an acre is about 210 feet by 210 feet or 70 yards by 70 yards. A pond 100 yards by 240 yards would be about 5 surface acres.
