How do you get rid of earwigs?

Question:

Answers:
Earwigs are nocturnal so the most effective methods are baited traps.
One earwig trap is plastic pots baited with fish oil (like tuna or sardines) on water. Place water & oil in a small cup sunk into the ground. This will be visited by earwigs. Keep the level of the oil at least an inch below the surface, forcing the earwigs to crawl deeply into the cup. Many earwigs may be attracted into oil-baited cups and drown.

The second method is to roll corrugated cardboard. This can be very effective trapping earwigs, as can rolled or crumpled newspapers stuffed into small paper bags. Wheat bran and wheat germ are among the baits that have been effective in CSU trials. Roll the cardboard into a spiral while sprinkling with bran. Fasten with string or rubber bands.
Another is to place the bran & paper ball into a flower pot and invert it onto a flat piece of wood.
Old lidded candy tins with a small hole punch in the side can be baited with bran also.
All such traps should be collected every 2-3 days, bagged and the captured earwigs discarded.

There's a poison powder on the market that should help. I can't think of it's name. (big help huh??) Earwigs love moisture so try drying up the area you're seeing them in. Best of luck.
Oh, check this out. I just watched a gardening show that tells you how to do just that. Roll up some newspaper and secure it with a rubber band and then set it in you garden bed. The earwigs need somewhere to go when the sun comes up because they sleep during the daytime and they will crawl into the folds of the rolled newspaper. In the evening shake the earwigs out of the paper into soapy water to kill them and then put the paper back to catch some more.
Here is a useful website. http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/pmg/pestnotes...
earwigs are nasty little bugs..I take a section of newspaper and soak it down with water and lay it in my flower beds or on the grass (where I find the most of them) overnight and because they like the moisture they crawl into the folds of the newspaper...in the morning I pick up the entire paper and throw it in a garbage bag, tie it up so none escape, and throw it in the garbage.
