How do I get grass to grow where dogs have urinated?

Question:I do not have a dog, but many of my neighbors due and it seems that more and more I see areas of dead grass on my lawn caused by dogs urinating. Is there a quick fix to this problem?

Answers:
I find it hard to believe a dog urinating on a spot would kill the grass. It must be very sensative stuff. I would say that if this is the case. Flush the soil well with plain old water to carry off any salts etc. This should do the trick.

Not quick unless you dig the areas up, but try lime.
CALL THE POLICE
Yes you can buy sod which is insanly nice grass but it will cost you. Also grass seed but sod would be the best decision buy it and lay it down on the areas with dead patches in a week the grass will root itself in and will look very nice.
Yes there is a quick fix- Plugs of grass watered generously after transplanting which also washes away the scent thereby sending the dogs elsewhere to top it off. I like to get my plugs from areas that I don't want the grass growing such as between cracks cause if they are determined to grow in such areas they will grow in the brown out are caused by excessive urine.
ok...first of all buy "Critter Ridder" which will repel dogs, cats, racoons, etc. from going on your lawn. Then, the growing back of your grass will take a longer time but you can grow it back by throwing some top soil on the patches and grass seed. If its warm the grass will grow back within a week, just remember to water.
the best way, if you can get ahold of some, is to spread sawdust onto the spots first. this will help balance out the acidity in the soil, which is what is killing your grass. you may even want to turn over the top inch before you spread it. water the area for a few days, then just go about business as if youre planting new grass. spread seed, cover with about a 1/2 inch of soil, and water everyday until it comes up.

i was able to obtain sawdust from the local highschool which has a woodshop, but i imagine if you went to a lumberyard or woodworking shop they may be willing to give you some. gl
I have a friend who works maintaining the green of the golfcourse. What he does is just waters the grass especially the affected area, and pours a handful of dry sand on the bald spots. This might also work on your problem, good luck and God bless you.
