my best guess without looking at it, when hitting the rock maybe bent the crank on the inside or broke the wrist pin on the the connecting rod...but all that is just a wild guess without looking at it, so take the plug out see if the piston goes up and down when you turn it over, if it does then something else. But gut feeling tells me something internal broke
The timing key has sheared off. You need to remove the flywheel and replace the key.
If you can still crank the engine and it doesn't make any odd noise, no oil running out the bottom, etc, you probably just sheared the flywheel key. There is a square or woodruff key between the flywheel and crankshaft that is designed to shear in the case of a shock load such as hitting a rock.
Broken rotor which might in turn interfere with ignition and the engine.Take it to an expert.
I agree with the guys who say it is most likely the flywheel key. This is a part you can buy for probably 50 cents and is fairly easy to fix yourself. I've done it before and I'm about an idiot when it comes to engines.
First remove the spark plug wire and check the condition of the blade. Take it off and check for damage, replace if in doubt. Slowing turn the engine with the starter rope while watching the crankshaft, you might need help with this, to make sure it is not bent. If that is ok, remove the cowling from the top of the engine including the starter assembly. There will be a large nut holding the flywheel. Remove it. You will have to hold the crankshaft to do this. On a briggs engine there are holes in the flywheel for a puller. On Tecumseh engines you have to pry carefully up on the flywheel and tap the crankshaft carefully so not to damage the threads. Replace the flywheel key and reassemble. Briggs engines all use the same key while Tecumseh uses several different styles.
