How big a lawn mower do i need for my yard?
Question:My lot is 165x135 minus the bungalow that sits on it. My electric isn't working that well and I dont want to cut it three times a week. Really I would like a rider but what would do in a push one?
Answers:
a push mower for exercise
Just like anything else, the bigger, the better.
get a walk behind.
Hey if you like a riding mower ? By all means get one . just be sure to get one with a cup holder HaHa .
I don't believe any type of mower will keep you from mowing 3 times a week - they will just make it faster to get the job done. You currently are using an electric mower - what size is it and how long does it take to mow the entire lawn with it.
You should get the type of mower that fits what you think you need. If you like the exercise and have the time (or small areas to mow rather than big open ones) then a good walk-behing mower will work fine. If you want to get the job done quicker and have more open spaces to mow then get a riding mower. Size depends on the storage space you have for the mower and how much yard you have. Cost can also be a big factor on what you need as to what you can get.
Also there is a wide range of prices in mowers and the brands of mowers out there. My personal preference if for a riding mower made by "Swissher" that is called a Ride King or Big Mow. These are small (32 ") mowers that are also zero-turn but without the big cost of most zero-turns ( used to be around $1,000 or less) The problem is that I think they have now stopped making these machines, but I am not sure - I do know finding parts for mine is not easy around here in Iowa. If you can find one new or even used they are very easy to operate and require very little maintenance. Just belts, bearings for the blades and a gearbox that rarely has trouble.
I hope that I have given you a few ideas about some mowers. All I can do is suggest - your decision on what you think you need will be your answer.
I have to add this suggestion just because no one else has yet: Have you thought about some sheep - comtinual "mowing" no effort on your part.
JUST KIDDING but had to make the suggestion!
I have dealt with the Husqvarna products because that's all my store sells. I am a fan of a bigger self propelled mower. Such as the Husqvarna 65021ES. If you want to go rider I would suggest a Husqy 155 AWD. Husqy makes a fantastic product but make sure you go to a specialized dealer not a Lowe's or Home Depot. My store is a specialized Huqsy dealer. Most of those dealers will do all the work you would need to have done on those products.
