What is a good "going rate" to pay someone to cut alot of weeds in my yard?

Question:

Answers:
I agree with the guys who said you should probably charge by the job rather than an hourly rate.

I'd figure out how long the job should take, then multiply by minimum wage plus 20 percent. Round up to the nearest dollar. Be sure and have cold drinks ready for break time and maybe some cookies! If the market for lawn-workers is pretty competitive, that should get you the cream of the crop. Tip them 10 percent if they've done an especially excellent job.

Good help is hard to find, so it's important to remember the courtesies -- they cost you nothing (or very little), but may make it easier to find help next time.

$5.00 for illegal aliens and $50.00 for the gringo.
First figure out how much time it should take to cut all of the weeds. Then figure out an hourly wage you think is fair. Multiply the two and you have a fixed price for the work.

If you offer an hourly rate, then you can expect the job to take a long time to complete.
most people charge by the yard and its size and how much work there is to be done.
