How to design a sidewalk?
Question:i want to modify the neighborhood with a sidewalk.is also safe for my children
Answers:
check your local ordinances. our main walks have to be 5 ft. wide. with a gravel or crushed stone base, etc...yours may differ...
The standards for sidewalk construction vary widely, depending on your location. Your best guidance for design may be from your local building department, which can provide the necessary details for construction in your location (based on climate, setbacks, widths, etc). You can also do a on-line search for something like "sidewalk design" and browse the requirements from various parts of the country.
Here are some general tips on sidewalk construction:

well this was one of the hardest yet most rewarding projects I ever undertook. The typical width for a side walk is 36 inches to allow for a wheelchair. I dug down 6 inches and made it really level. do your diggin width at 40 inches, because once you dig that out, you want to lay 2X4 's all along the side to line it. then over tht lay down a plastic sheeting. Sprinkle with a little bit of water. Take a bag of quik crete and mix it up and pour it down. a section at a time. place a 2X4 sideways to contain what you just poured. smooth it really good, and you can decorate it up with marbles or what ever in the wet cement before it dries. Kepp thjat section damp while it seet. Then when that section is well set , get another section going. It is a slow process, hard, but really rewarding in the end. Good luck,
