How to keep the neighbor's cat out of my plants?

Question:How can I keep the neighbor's fncking cat out of my garden?

I'm an animal lover, but I would just love to shoot this little bastard. He digs my plants up or chews on them, leaving tiny little fang marks. Several have just flat-out died. I keep succulents and cacti, which can be temperamental at times, despite their hardiness.

Is there some kind of spray or something that I can mist my plants with??

Help!!

Answers:
I have 9 cats (no, they don't do what your neighbor's cat does. I built them an outdoor enclosure). The cheapest, simplest solution is cayenne powder (crushed red pepper made into powder). It doesn't hurt the cats or the plants, even if it rains. One snootful and they go away. Get it at any grocery store.

spray citisolve around the base of the plants (not on the foliage). this will keep the cats away.
There is a powder made from the urine of predatory animals that you can buy at your local pet store. It is called "Shake Away" Anyhow, you just sprinkle it around the area you don't want the cats. I'm planning on trying it around my kids sand box.
Oh, yea, it's all natural and safe to use around dogs, kids, and plants.
Your local garden center or pet supply store should be able to suggest a product.

Have you discussed this with your neighbors? Maybe they can help control their cat.

For a radical idea, you could also try pouring your own urine around the planted area. The cat might then realize this is someone else's territory.

If none of that works, borrow a friend's dog to keep in your yard.
Try some red pepper powder around the base of your plants.
white or cayenne pepper sprinkled on the ground.
you can get a sprinkler that is motion sensitive and will go off if a dog or cat goes into your yard, adn eventually wont do anymore
Moth balls can work, or you can try using orange peel -- they have to be replace frequently. If you could put some sticky tape at the place the cat just up to, they don't like anything that feels sticky. There also something I've seen in gardening catalogs that has pointed ends that stick up that are placed near the plant and the cats don't like that either.
