What do I do to help my browning evergreen?

Question:what kind of nutrients or fertilizer can I use to help it green again and grow?

Answers:
How long has it been there and when did it start browning?
Do you water it? Is it a spruce, they are proned to mites that suck the juice and cause browning. Take a piece of it in a baggie to a garden center and they should be able to diagnose the problem for you and direct you to deal with it. Some inner browning is normal and it is like the sloughing of our skin. Does it have good drainage? As far as fertilizer goes, find one that is specifically for evergreens and give it no more than the recommended amount. Once in a while it is good to hose off the evergreens, it carries away some insects and just freshens them up. Good Luck!

They make a special plant food for evergreens that comes in the form of a spike. You pound them into the ground. Watering will also feed them as the spikes eventually disolve.
one stop poisioning your neibors hedge and they will stop doing it back to yours answer seaweed not straight from the salt or put it aside and let the rain wash it for a while wood ash some evergreens wont germinate unless there is a forest fire dont burn your yard down but next time you have a camp fire and you waited for a week go collect the ashes coffie grounds kitchen scraps that are biodegradeable spoiled hay or straw grass clippings chase the tree cutter people and that big mulch truck dump the whole thing in your yard and anything you put those chips arround keep it 4-8 inches away from the base of the plants you can git manure either from the farm or pay for it per small bag at the store you can put carcasses of animals first see if you have soil thats clay or sand no matter what you have you can improve it with humus if you use peat the water will run away from you planting but dont be over watering let it dry out and with mulches you dont need to water i went from watering all the time and when i decided to git resourseful apply some kinda mulch then tada i dont water or very rarely watch all the people water all arround the neiborhood and you dont have to just wait till the next rain and let that do some work for you if you dont let it dry out the roots will not penetrate as well to find water you might be careing for your plants to much and the first year you plant you should not be going crazy with fertilizers it takes a while for the mulches to break down for some its 2-4 years you will notice a difference with all your plantings or you can keep your ears open some communitys have a huge compost pile they have at the other end of the city hope you have a large enough trailer cause you can take as much as you can git so that might help try saving rain water in a barrel at the end of your eves trough put a screen on to keep out the mosquitos then use a small bucket and use that to water later your welcome hope your gardening improves you dont have to use chemicals if you dont want to think about this people that lived there probably milked the soil for all it is worth and you have to be pacient your soil will improve if you use these suggestions
