Is it possible to get lawn grass in any other colour apart from green?

Question:I was hoping to get blood red grass, or black - even white would be good. If i cant buy it in these colours, can anyone suggest a good way to dye the grass without killing it?

Answers:
I agree with the others that grass only comes in the colour green. However, if you would like to add interest to your lawn, there are some options. You could plant something other than grass. There are some herbs that withstand a lot of traffic -- thyme is the one that is most commonly used, and it gets nice flowers (I think in spring). Chamomile might also be worth looking into.

Another option is to plant bulbs in your lawn that bloom early in spring. I have heard that you can put crocuses in amongst your grass, then just don't mow until after they've bloomed (which is very early in spring, so it works out well).

If you really want to be different, get rid of the grass and go with something all together different. I've heard that some people plant there front yard down to potatoes because its great for the soil. Turn your yard into a huge vegetable garden. Or, put in a rock garden with black granite or river rock (make sure to use landscape fabric underneath) with some shrubs and/or small ground cover mixed in. You can get plants with red leaves, like a cistena cherry that would look great in a rock garden. If you want different and non-green, think outside the grass box.

they sell cheap spray paint at Walmart,
Sports Stadium groundskeepers are know to use vegetable dye to brighten the grass for a game. Worth a shot.
Grass only comes in green. Unless you don't water it, then it's brown. Even if you dyed it and didn't kill it, you would need to redo it every couple weeks as it grew.
You could use food coloring which shouldn't kill it but you may get complaints from your neighbors unless its for Halloween or Christmas time.
Just think about having to dye the roots as it grows!
there is kentucky blue grass which it more like a teal green than a blue but it will mos def stand out against a neighborhood of green crab grass
you cant get grass like this, it has to be green (like the chloromoform in all green plants) or it wont be able to process light and carbon dioxide into sugars so it can feed, therefore it would die. sorry you going to have to stay green. anyway green is good :)
You will have to buy some red grass seed.
you could put a lot of copper deposits under the ground then it might come up blue like Kentucky
During the last war it was common to paint searchlight scorched grass with ordinary paint. try some in a dark corner and see what happens......
