How do i prevent my petunia to become too leggy and long!?

Question:its not even a hanging petunia or surfina!

Answers:
yes, you need to cut it back when it gets too leggy. usually you do this in mid/late summer, to encourage some new growth and a new flush of flowers. petunias are quite happy to be pruned and you will get much better looking flowers over a longer period.

Keep pruning!
You must prune or cut back the petunia to about 6". Don't worry, it should come back. And it should come back healthier.
Trim it back it will come back
Hi,
Other growers, including myself have used our lawn mowers on them!
Yes, lawn mowers!
If you have a large bed of petunias, you can use your lawn mower, (with grass catcher preferred), set to this highest level setting, run through the flower bed 2 to 3 times during the summer.
Give them a good soaking of "Miracle-Gro", and in about a weeks time, you will be in "awe" of how dense and loaded with new flowers your petunias will have.
I do it every summer, using a push-type mower with a grass catcher to collect the cuttings as I mow.
When you notice it getting leggy, simply pinch it back a few inches. It'll grow back nice and bushy and bloom even better. I've grown petunias in the past and found that if I pinched off the dead flowers the plants didn't get leggy.
