Riding lawn mower won't start..?

Question:I have a Craftsman riding lawn mower (not sure the model or the year, it's fairly new though). It won't start, I push the Brake/Clutch, put the throttle to full and turn the key and It clicks (like it's about to turn over but it doesn't). Then sometimes it turns over and I adjust the throttle to try and start it and it won't. The last time I started it was 7 days ago, and there are four key positions (Off,Lights,Something else, and Start) and I accidentally left it on the one I don't know, could this be causing the problem? Please help...

Answers:
The position you don't know is the run position. That is , like a car , where the key springs back to after the motor starts and you let go of the key. That position leaves all electric on and it sounds like you weakened or killed the battery. It will probably start if you give it a charge, but make sure you use a charger correctly. The right voltage setting for your battery and the right polarity of the terminals, (positive and negative).

change the spark plug,
change the battery or charge it and check you sparks plugs
I used to have a craftsman riding lawnmower. It gave me nothing but problems. I couldn't take the problems anymore so I got rid of it. Never buy anything power from craftsman.

Anyway, an answer to your question, it might sound stupid, but try recharging the battery some. Mine always had to have the battery recharged before it would do anything.
