Good price for conifer pruning?
Question:i have 15 leyllandi conifers that are 20 feet tall i have a quote of £400 to trim them all down by 6ft does this price seem reasonable or too much

Seems very reasonable. Just make sure that the person has their own personal insurance. This should be included in the price.
Far too much for a trim, it should only take them a morning at most.All they have to do is remove the waste to an approved council tip which does have a charge( which you could check yourself by phoning the council)
I had similar cowboy problems some time ago, and there are lots of them about.Check the local paper and yellow pages for people with arboriculture qualifications ( Tree Surgeons) and get a few competitive quotes ( make sure they put the price in writing and have an address and non mobile phone number so you can avoid "travelers"! )
Look for £150 max.
It would be best to get rid of the trees completely as they keep on growing. If you do make sure that you get the roots removed at the same time , it costs more but is worth it to get more space.
£400 seems lot of money get more quotes you need reputable firm that will take the cuttings away as well . if i was you i would get rid of the lot .but think about it don't pay that much just for a trim may be to take the lot £400 its ok.
Sounds a wee bit expensive, its only a few hours work, i would only take about £250.00 for this amount of work.
