Does anybody know what's wrong with my Dogwood?
Question:I have a young Dogwood and every year, just after the leaves come out, they turn dark at the tips and by the end of summer, I'm wondering if it's going to die, it looks so bad. They just shrivel up and turn crispy like potato chips (sorry, I'm hungry). This spring I had only 4 blooms and last year I had none. What kind of disease is this and how can I save my little get-well present? Rather ironic. Maybe it got it from me! : (

Sounds like distemper..Just kidding, it's a joke! get it... DOG wood?
If it's a young tree, recently transplanted, it's root system is undeveloped and it will need to be watered frequently.
It could also have Dogwood Anthracnose, a disease that causes the leaf tips to shrivel and darken.
Mulch, water during dry periods from below keeping the leaves dry.
if that doesnt work, fungicide.
it may just need to be fed with a little fertilizer
Dogwoods do not do too well in full sunlight or nearly full sunlight. Is your tree out in the full sun all day or does it get some time in the shade?
