I planted mine outside and its thriving, if its indoors you could try putting it in a bigger pot filled with John Innis No 3 compost, its very good stuff and your plant will grow bigger & better !.
They are not very fussy when planted outdoors directly into the ground. I do nothing to mine and it is now around 15 feet high. They are happy in light or shade. I have another in a pot on the patio and feed that about once a month but thats it. Indoors they can be a bit awkward - they are prone to red spider mite so look out for those and the leaves can go yellow if you dont feed regularly. I would suggest spraying the leaves with water once a week (I put it on the draining board to save wetting everything else) - this keeps the dust off and helps the leaves to fight back against central heating. I hope this helps. I am not an expert but this is what has worked for me.
.I'm growing mine in the garden its doing really well it does not matter even if you put just ordinary soil it will grow
I live in zone 7, so mine stays out year-round in a pot. I move it to the sunniest areas of the house, depending on the time of year. I have trimmed it to be more of a topiary, so I can use it as part of a plant grouping with other potted herb plants for decoration. It likes to be thoroughly watered, then dry between waterings. I don't use much fertilizer, if at all. Some rinsed milk-carton water or an occasional compost tea, but that's it. It grows great.
