What kind of grass is best for shade and what kind is best for direct sun in south Louisiana?
Question:trying to grow grass,need to know what type of seeds to buy.

I live in LA and have planted centipede in two of my homes. It works great and is a thick lush grass.
Bermuda grass
Centipede grass
St. Augustine is probably best for Sun. but it requires lots of water. Not many grasses do well in full shade but St. Augustine will grow in bright shade if given enough fertilizer and water. I would suggest you check with your County Agent or LSU Cooperative Extension Service for more information on Turf grasses and their uses.
