Tea color water in my pond?
Question:
Answers:
vedgitation breaking down, is coloring the water
If you have a pond on your property you are supposed to dye it blue or green at least once a year.
its from algae, and critters& stuff
do you clean it regularly?
do you watch the amout of chlorine you put in it?
maybe drain it out, and start over with fresh water. (:
Sounds like tannin's from leaves or wood chips
Get a teapot and call company!
what i dont understand da question
sounds like the chemical balance is off get some test strips and check all levels and the box that the strips come in tells you what the levels should be for whatever size pond it is, so then buy the chemicals needed and correct the balances of the water.good luck with this, i have a small pond in my backyard and it is horrible to keep clean and looking the way its suppose to.
Probably just algae discoloring the water. Get a water testing kit at a specialty aqarium store that has expertise in setting up home ponds.
Do a water change, make sure your filter is running and put a UV sterilizer on it if you don't have one already (or make sure the bulb is being replaced often enough if you do have one) if the water is "soupy" looking or murky.
If the water is "clear" but tea colored, it's from tannins leeching into your water from leaves or tree matter falling into the pond.
Make sure you clear out the bottom of your pond.
This can happen if your pond is under or near trees, shrubs, etc., etc.
It sounds like you have leaves that have decayed in your pond. My pond is partly under a hickory nut tree and sometimes they fall in the pond. If it is leaves you need a net to try and get them out, then do a water change. Add a tablet of blue dye this will help in the meantime until the water has circulated and the tea color water has evaporated
