What kind of sicko are you why are trying to scare the poor little cute squirrels? Then the bad part about it that you will also be damaging the birds every animal and insect has it's role in our ecosystem and environment. When you eliminate one or more of then that will change our enviornment. Some way we have killed off millions of honey bees who fertilize our fruits and vegetables. Now what? They are a part of the food chain and our everyday life. I cannot beleive how ignorant we have become as supposedly the leaders of the world we are going to ruin it and kill ourselves over the next fifty years. Through global warming and ruining our ecosystem. Jesus! did you guys learn anything at school or do you just play video games and Ipods all day. We won't be able to produce enough food to feed ourselves. Didn't anyone teach you not to fool with mother nature leave the squirrels alone. They are no threat to you. Why are you trying to harm them Please go and find something positive to do with your time. The only reason I can see you doing this is just being evil and mean.
the birds won't like that either.
You can try. Birds have an incredible tolerance for pepper heat and the vitamin A improves their plumage.
I would even use cayanne powder or crushed red pepper. Some birds may shy away from it, but most won't mind it.
Eta: She's talking about how to prevent squirrels from eating bird feed that's set out specifically for squirrels. One of the only ways to do this is by using pepper powder/spray... much safer to use powder, even if it's a hotter pepper.
No! Some birds like chili peppers and seeds but I would not do that. You just need to squirrel-proof your feeder is all. Go to Walmart and get one of those shepherd hooks to hang your feeder on. The squirrels can't climb up them.
No, then u wouldn't have any birds either.
