Gardening...Azalea bush?
Question:I have a very large beautiful azalea bush next to my house...it just finished blooming. My question is when and how much can I trim this large bush.it is very tall and right up against the house.how much can I trim it and how many years will it take to look good again.

If it just finished blooming now you want to cut it back immediatly. Never wait any longer because you could damge the parts of the buds that will begin to swell for next season. You can cut it back as far as you'd like although if your going from 8' to 4' it most likely will die because there will be barely any foliage left to perform photosynthesis. Although you could feed it to give it nutrients during this period it's still not recommended. You should be able to get away with trimming it back about a foot every year. This will eventually bring it to a size you prefer and also keep it from looking like hell. Goodluck!
