And how about animals like, frogs, turtles, salamanders? For my 60 gallon pond ?

Question:Can you put any of these in pond? If I put a turtle in with my frogs will it eat them? And can I put a leopord frog in it?

Answers:
A 60 gallon pond is not very large and the amount of animals that you will be able to support is not very large. A couple of fish, a small frog or turtle at the most.

We have an e-book available on our website that is very good and has a lot of information about pond animals.

i would think yes, but avoid anything exotic.and remember amphibians need to sun themselves.
i really do not know if they will be eaten or not but you can try it and learn.

..
my sister has a very huge pond in her back yard. i would not put a turtle in it... the birds will eat it... she has fish in hers and several plants.. for you because you pond is smaller i would stick with goldfish.. her pond attract frogs and they lay eggs in her pond every year..just remember you have to winterize this pond come winter.. if you over load it with animals you have to find a place for most of them when it gets colder.. her pond freezes over in the winter, and the fish lay dormant at the bottom.good luck. they have a lot of books at the library on how to have a safe and very thriving pond.. this is how she learned good luck
