How to get rid of bamboo?
Question:
Answers:
Bamboo is in the grass family, and puts out a lot of underground runners. You'll need to cut deeply around the clump out far enough to find where the runners have gone, and then keep digging and cutting down all the way around before even trying to haul the stuff out of the ground. Even one little runner left uncut between the bamboo stalks will leave enuf for it to regenerate and come up somewhere else. Hope yours isn't too big a clump! You may still have to repeat this from time to time as 'volunteer' spikes start coming up. Good luck!
give it to meeeeeeee :)
that sucks for you though, that stuff reproduces like bunnies
Get a panda as pet.
Otherwise i am fresh out of ideas
take out the roots...
Get a Panda.
we have it too. at first we didnt like it but now we find it makes a great natural privacy fence. as for getting rid of it. i have no clue the neighbors have told us they tried everything from burning it, it pulling it all up, to dumping bleach on it, and nothing has made it go away. it even grew under the road to grow across the street.
Is this actually a bamboo, or Japanese Knotweed? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/japanese_kn...
In either case , keep attacking it by any, & all means available , until it runs out of energy, and quits coming back. (You may be out of energy first! ;D)
bamboo is basically a weed--will take along timme of persistently pulling out the suckers after you dig up the main plant. maybe try some round up after you dig it up---can't plant anything new there for a season tho
just like any other weed:
1. dig it out
2. try to make sure it's all gone
3. wait a week for another seed to blow into your yard
4. repeat
Have you tried a non-selective herbicide like Round-Up? You may have to repeat quite a few times before you get a good handle on it, but should do the trick.
