When you come on my deck you can smell cucumbers, and there is none so what is this?

Question:

Answers:
My mother always told us kids when we were out picking wild blackberrys that if we smelled cucumbers in the patch to look for a copperhead snake. I don't know if you live in an area where there are copperheads, but maybe you should have the underside of your deck checked for a nest of copperheads. These snakes are very poisionous.

If it smells like earth or musky it is probably some wood rot or ground mold underneath
mmmmmmmmmm yummo cucumbers
You aren't going to like this answer, but, there is a snake that smells like cucumbers. NO JOKE. I'd be looking under the deck before it reproduces.
I agree with the previous answer that you should check for snakes. I was always told it was rattlesnakes that smelled like cucumbers; however, copperheads are dangerous too. Better be safe than sorry! Hope it turns out well.
check your area for snakes and their eggs. Sounds like ypu have the perfect area for laying eggs
