Bushes and Shrubs?
Question:I live in the UK and I need some shrubs or bushes that grow fast to give my garden some impact, it is a new house with just a garden of grass, I have planted some shrubs but obviously they will take time to grow, I would really like some instant impact any ideas?

July will be the perfect time to plant Jasmine specifically Jasminum polyanthum. This is the fastest growing Jasmine with divine fragrance. Generally, by november - the branches shall be 4-5 meter long - which I assume makes a big sized bunch to act as hedge.
To help it grow faster, you might have to make some sort of temporary standing net, spread the branches and tie them up to the net in a spreaded pattern. I suggest you buy atleast 3-4 month old plant and transplant it in your garden with good amount of organic fertilizers, if you will use chemical based fertilizer - you may not have butterflies in your garden :( You can transplant couple of jasmines depending upon space in your garden.
There has been wonderful suggestions in previous messages - but you can also try this fragrant idea !!! Also, you can plant Gardenia, Cestrum Nocturnum, Butterfly bush (beautiful one) in between jasmines.
