What is the best way to grow broad beans?

Question:

Answers:
you can plant Broad Beans strait into the garden, or as I have done a large plant pot, a couple of inches of soil in the bottom half fill with compost (grass cuttings will do) top up with soil, plant beans into this and watch them grow, takes about six Weeks to grow to the picking stage ours taste great.

mine are going great at the moment i planted seed in trays then took outside at about 4 inches tall next to 6" canes keep netted and look out for black fly although i have been told if you plant the seed outside in October they will grow over winter and not attract the dreaded fly. hope this helps
plant the beans in rows across the garden. plant each seed about 6" apart in a triple row the row being 12" wide.the first crop of the year can be planted in the autunm for the earlies crop the following year, the best variety is aquadulce for this early sowing. in the spring any variety will do.if you live in a very windy location you may prefer to pland a dwarf variety.
