they get huge ! most of them do so if your going to plant one make sure you are a ways from the house ! taking care and trimming gets to be a hassle as the get older and tend to shed old branches with every passing wind but excellent trees as far as shade and rapid growth. oldest maple i have cut down was over 150 years old, appx 125 feet tall and over 5 feet across the trunk !
