Should compost heaps be swarming with ants?

Question:has a compost tub and it has a gigantic ants nest in it - is this ok?

Answers:
Ants are a sign your compost is to dry. Turn it and wet it as you go. It should be just moist like a wrung out sponge. Once it is wet there will be no more ants trying to inhabit it.

be glad you don't have any vermin making home in it for their litters.
Noticed loads of ants around the lid of my compost lid yesterday, during a very brief sunny spell. Sprayed with Dethlac spray, No Sign of them today.
It should be too warm for ants. Don't you "toss" your compost? You have to get oxygen into it.
It won't do it any harm. Kitchen waste will attract them.
