Well, you could start by getting a rotating sprinkler that is on 3 legs and about 4 to 5 feet tall. then only keep it on certain areas of your grass for, oh say, 20 minutes, before moving it. Also, make sure to go easy on the fertilizer. That is my advice.
Water your lawn a lot in summer. Also of course fertilize as recommended or have it done through a lawn service.

The product "Ironite" works wonders. Usually if you have a problem with a yellowing of your lawn it is a iron deficiency. Assuming there are no problems with pests or other diseases.
Ironite will not burn your lawn at all. It is completely organic as well.
Use a fertilizer high in nitrogen which is the first number in the 3 number series on the fertilizer bag.
