You in a drought, that means that water needs to be conserved,for drinking ,bathing, laundry, The lawn will Green up again when it rains or plant grass seed that is drought resistant after the drought is over.
In some gardening catalogs, there are large plastic barrels that have a hose connection spigot at the bottom. People place them under rain gutters to collect water that can be stored and used later. When we had watering bans in the past, my mother ran a hose from the washing machine to one of those barrels and stored the soapy rinse water. Then, it could be used for watering the lawn and gardens. Plants thrive on soapy water and it controls insect pests. The laundry water would normally have been lost down the drains and sewers. This was a good way to recycle the water and keep the gardens green.
I don't know the particulars of your ban but usually you only can water on certain days(mon,wed,fri on N-S streets tues,thurs,sat on E-W streets or something) and only early in the morning or late at night, (which you should do anyway). it should be all over the news what you can do.

If the grass has a deep root system then your lawn will be better at enduring drought. Think about using fertilizer that encourages root growth.
If the subsoil is hard packed clay then you have my problem and sympathy and there is nothing you can do.
There are also drought resistant varieties of lawn grass that you could over plant in the fall or spring. Eventually the tougher grass will take over.
I found that the Fescues, creeping and red, will stand up to dry weather better then the Bluegrass varieties.
Scott's "Play" or "Central Park" are also good varieties.
