We would think that probably the best known site for tree classification, species, type and family is of course that of the national arbor day foundation. I'm sure you will find what you are looking for here without any problem at all. Any questions you can email me at info@bcbsinc.com or check out our website. http://www.bcbsinc.com. We are accountants but love nature as well and very fond of web research as well. We have a free newsletter. Wayne http://www.arborday.org/treeguide/browse...

It will let you describe your tree several different ways, by leaf type, by bark type etc. Hope that helped!
There are a number of great websites with pictures of trees, and keys to identifying trees by leaves, fruits, buds, and bark. Not knowing what part of the United States you live in, I will leave it to you to type in a search on Google, using the words 'tree identification'. A number of sites will be found for growing regions across the US. I am a Forester in Illinois and would be glad to help you if I had pictures, or more information. I hope this helps!
