Can you recommend a flowering shrub for N.E. area that stays small and blooms most of the summer? Thanks!?

Question:I need a small bush/shrub to plant at a gravesite in the New England Area.... thanks to all!

Answers:
Potentilla fruticosa aka Potentilla, aka Bush Cinquefoil will bloom pretty much the entire summer and will tolerate the neglect it will receive at a gravesite with regard to water.

They come in white, red, pink, yellow and orange.

Second plant would be Buddleia davidii, Butterfly bush, BUT you'll need a dwarf variety. This will bloom from June into October. Adonis Blue and Peacock are two examples. Call around.

If the area is sunny, try a perennial such as catmint. It looks similar to a small bush and doesn't need much water. And the purple blooms last for most of the summer. Hope that helps!
