Citronella candles work the best, or get a bug zapper. But there is no way to completely get rid of mosquitoes, best thing to do is just dont go outside in the even or around any wet grass or water.
Fabric Softener sheets...rub them on you...it works.

I strongly suggest purchasing a mosquito magnet. I picked one up at Ace Hardware last year and it made a tremendous difference. I have 2 small children and the idea of burning candles, sprays and fertilizers were not popular for me. Consumer Reports rate the product highly as well.
