My question has to do with landscaping. I have a mole in my landscaping, I need some good advice.?

Question:I am getting ready to treat my yard with diazinon or grub x because I think I have grub worms. In my backyard around the patio it is landscaped and the other day I actually saw the little beast for a second but by the time I got out there he had already went back into the mulch. The mole is in my landscaping and I do not exactly know how to handle this. Should I just do nothing and maybe he will go away after he has got his belly full of grub worms or do I treat under the mulching where the plants are at. I do not think I should treat for insects under the mulching in the landscaping.

Someone's advice would truly be appreciated. Thanks.

I bought a device at Lowes that you put batteries in and stuck in the ground close to where they are and it wound vibrate periodically they hate that. I had good results. It looks like a giant tent stake

not gonna swear by this but..get some hedgeballs and put in the holes if ya can..ya might have to dig the holes the mole already started..but put 1 in several holes and see..this is good i know for spiders and other bugs ya ge tin a home..place hedgeballs in the basement when other pets cant get to them or under the house...
Getting a pet cat might help. We used to have critters but the neighborhood cats killed them all. That way you can save the environment by not using toxic chemicals. You may find some info on motherearth.com.
from a professional mole trapper
It could be a mole or it is most likely a shrew
shrews are about the size of a mouse and live in mulch beds.
Try this-buy some mouse traps and a 6" diameter clay pot
Put some real bacon on the trap trigger
dig out excess earth from around its hole-place mouse trap with trigger toward hole-press the trap firmly into the ground-
cover trap with clay pot-check daily
the only way to remove them is by killing them
Shrews, like moles are insectivores-there diet is mainly earthworms with the balance being grubs and invertabrates
