Do Crabapples/Dogwoods grow well in Virginia?

Question:(Southern VA respectivly)

Also, how long until they are pretty good size?

Lastly , Should they be in full sun or can they do well in shaded areas? Thanks!

Answers:
Crab apples and dogwoods both will do well in your area. They are considered
understory plants...which translates to them being 'under' taller trees. They do best when in some shade. Preferably afternoon.

They are slow growing, so if you want immediate impact try something else. These trees will provide you with many years of beautiful blooms though...so if you are looking for something long lived and beautiful either or both would be good choices.

hope this helps.

Yes! They grow very well. It takes a few years for them to get large, and they need partial shade.
Dogwood is the state flower for a reason, trust me it does well. Crabapples do equally as well. They like full sun but the dogwood can tolerate some shade
